PLF Paralegal’s Grandson Working on Energy Independence1 minute read

Bea Flournoy has worked as a paralegal in our Personal Injury and Social Security Division for 18 years. We share her pride in her grandson Stephen Fordham. Born and raised in Ranburne, Alabama, Stephen attended Ranburne public schools. He was on the high school Physics Team and in 2006 placed 5th in the American Chemical Society competition. He graduated in 2007 as Salutatorian with the J. Craig & P. Smith Scholarship, Elk’s Lodge Scholarship, and Gamecock Scholarship. He attended Jacksonville State University where he earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry. Stephen is now a Ph.D. candidate in chemistry at Texas A&M. His hard work and abilities have earned him a waiver of all tuition and fees.
Stephen is currently part of an elite team of Ph.D. candidates, called the Zhou Group, working on securing our country’s energy independence by creating vehicle fuel tanks that will store low pressure natural gas. No small feat.  The team received a 3 million dollar federal grant for its work. In October, Stephen will be making a presentation to General Motors about the team’s findings! Congratulations to Stephen and his entire family, especially grandmother Bea.  You can read more about this very important research and Stephen at http://www.chem.tamu.edu/rgroup/zhou/

What if I have other questions about workers compensation?

Georgia’s workers compensation system can be very confusing.  You have to worry about getting the treatment you need and paying your bills while also worrying about not missing any deadlines that could cause you to lose your right to receive workers compensation benefits.

If you have questions, I would recommend that you try to get answers.  To find out more about how to schedule a time to talk to me about your workers compensation questions, just read this short article.

Jason Perkins is an attorney who specializes in representing injured workers.  He regularly publishes videos and write blog articles about Georgia’s workers compensation system and issues that are important to injured workers and their families.
