One of a paralegal’s most important tasks is helping attorneys prepare for closings, hearings, trials and meetings. They may also help attorneys identify appropriate laws, judicial decisions, legal articles and other relevant materials. As the law becomes more complex, paralegals are becoming more specialized. For example, a corporate paralegal may help prepare employee contracts, shareholder agreements and stock-option plans. Litigation paralegals may help analyze materials for internal use, conduct research and analyze evidence for hearings.
